Medal Of Honour For Hero Prince Harry

Harry, 23, who is known within the army as Lieutenant Wales, was presented with the award by his aunt, the Princess Royal, in her capacity as colonel of the Blues and Royals.

Chelsy Davy lined up alongside senior members of the royal family to see her boyfriend receive his first army campaign medal.

A grinning and blushing Prince Harry was given a medal for his service in Afghanistan on Monday by his aunt, Princess Anne.

The young red-haired royal struggled to contain a smile as the princess pinned the Operational Service Medal for Afghanistan to his desert fatigues in a ceremony at the Combermere Barracks in Windsor, west of London.

Lt Harry Wales has received his medal for service on Operation Herrick alongside comrades from the Household Cavalry Regiment in a ceremony today, 5 May 2008.

Lt Wales served on operations in Afghanistan for 10 weeks before returning to the UK on Saturday 1 March 2008.
